Concert raises money for The Mason Trust

Saturday 7th March saw the Diss Cornhall filled to hear the South Norfolk Youth Symphonic Band play a wonderful selection of pieces in aid of The Mason Trust.

A massive thank you to the band for entertaining everyone and donating to the Trust, they even put on a raffle for us!

SNYSB+ are a mixed ability band with over 50 members, aged between eight and 75! The band has twice played for, and been presented to, HRH The Princess Royal and has played in the Royal Albert Hall and around the world. Over the years the band has raised thousands of pounds for charities and regularly gives several concerts each year.

The Mason Trust have a special link with SNYSB members as the Trust’s funding programme has contributed to helping 89 of them perform abroad over 3 tours since 2012.

The band played brilliantly, conducted by Chairman and Musical Director Mike Booty - who provided information on the night's performances and entertainment in equal measure!  Mike formed the band in 1974.

A lovely evening was had by all, with proceeds from the tickets, collection boxes and raffle all coming to the Trust in order to help us continue our support of young people and their hopes and aspirations throughout Norfolk and Suffolk. It also provided us with a valuable opportunity to give people better understanding of who the Mason Trust are and what we are strive to achieve.

Huge appreciation and thanks also go to the Jacob Birchall Foundation who kindly sponsored the venue so that the maximum amount of donations could come directly to the Trust.

You are all amazing, thank you!
