Having been named in Her Majesty the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list, well known business woman Yvonne Mason was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the Prince of Wales at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on 12th March 2020.

The OBE was bestowed on Yvonne as the Founder and Chair of Trustees of The Mason Trust charity, in recognition of the charity’s dedication to inspiring and empowering young people in Yvonne Mason’s native East Anglia.

Founded in 2008 and committed to enabling young people in Norfolk and Suffolk to realise their aspirations and take control of their futures, The Mason Trust enables Yvonne Mason  to share her extensive business knowledge and experience with youngsters embarking on their careers.  Since its foundation Yvonne and her team at the Trust have worked closely with the education sector, inspiring and guiding thousands of young people in their career choices by way of workshops, career talks and the innovative ICANBEA website.

The Trust has also enabled almost 1000 young people to engage in life-enhancing experiences abroad, many of whom have been accompanied by Yvonne, who has seen at first hand the benefits to these young people.

“I feel extremely honoured to have been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire,” comments Yvonne Mason.  “I am very fortunate to have the backing and enthusiasm of the team at The Mason Trust, without whom I could not have realised our ambitions for the charity.”
