Lucas Measures is an Explorer Scout and is about to embark on an amazing trip as part of the largest ever contingent of Scouts from the UK to attend the World Scout Jamboree which is being held in West Virginia, USA this summer.
For months now Lucas has been working extremely hard and utilising his 'entrepreneurial talents' to raise money for the trip. He applied to the Trust in early 2018 and outlined his fundraising efforts including a sponsored swim covering the distance of the English Channel! cake sales, washing cars, sausage sizzles and making bracelets and woggles to sell at various Scout, Cub and Beaver events.
Lucas and his mum, Kate, came to the Trust offices in Diss and met with Yvonne and Sam Mason and Rob Waddington, to receive his runners up certificate and prize in the Applicant of the Year 2018/19 awards.
The Trustees took the opportunity to ask Lucas if he was looking forward to the trip and all about his amazing fundraising activities.
After being presented with his award Lucas said "I would like to thank the Trustees for their support in helping me reach my target."
We hope Lucas has an amazing time in the USA and look forward to hearing all about it when he returns.
